The DCU may be used as a piggy-back unit to the UPB as well as a stand-alone unit. It has its own processor which releaves the UPB from handling the display task.

And integrated IR receiver allows the unit to receive control information using a standard RC controller. In addition the unit has a beeper and three indicator leds.

The display has 16x2 characters and is able to scroll both horizontally and vertically. A total of 8 user defined characters may be used.
